The 2005 Rosenthal Sparkling Shiraz is a follow up to our 2003 Gold Medal winning Sparkling Shiraz. It combines the talent and creativity of renowned local wine makers Diane Miller and Julie Smith. 2005 was an exceptional vintage for the Bridgetown/Manjimup area with most days being warm and sunny leading to ripe flavour-some fruit. The 2005 Rosenthal Sparkling Shiraz is an elegant wine exhibiting plum fruit, spicy oak and a smooth well balanced palate. It has a deep purple colour. On the palate it is full and rich with the bubbles creating a lingering after-taste.

Although Rosenthal Wines has been around for only a few years, it has already made quite an impact with some of the most exciting wines to come out of the State's South-West around Bridgetown and Pemberton.

There is no question these three wines were the highlights of my tasting this week. Also check out the superb sparkling shiraz which is one of the best examples of this style I have seen from a WA producer.The wines are unbelievable value for wines of this quality and I would be jumping in now before the word gets around.

Clean fruit nose with a touch of oak and some barrel ferment complexity. Light, well-made palate with good fruit definition and well balanced by the sugar/acid.
